ITEN 2nd Thursday

December 11th, 3:00pm until 8:00pm  Our guest speaker in December is Curtis Davis, Co-Founder and COO of MulticoreWare.   MulticoreWare‘s mission is to empower people to leverage heterogeneous computing so as to deliver enhanced value everywhere.  Founded in 2009, MulticoreWare has grown rapidly and today has one of the largest heterogeneous computing teams worldwide. MulticoreWare has over 200 engineers globally with offices in St. Louis, Champaign-Urbana, Silicon Valley, China and India.

6:00pm:  HEC will be filming brief interviews with as many 2nd Thursday attendees as possible, so don’t miss the chance for a few seconds of fame!

About Curtis Davis:  Curtis has 20 years of experience in Management, Engineering and Operations for multicore computing, networking, graphics and semiconductor markets. He was a Co-founder, President, and COO of Ageia Technologies.  Ageia was bought by nVIDIA, where Ageia’s technology is adopted in the entire GPU product line today. At nVIDIA, Curtis was the VP of PhysX and led the largest CUDA and OpenCL development teams in the world. Prior to Ageia, Curtis was a Cofounder, CEO, and VP Engineering of Celox Networks. He has worked at MinMax Technologies, MEMC and Caterpillar.

About Joe Pimmel: Joe is a strategic financial and operational leader, enjoying the journey of building, financing and supporting business ventures at varying stages throughout the life cycle. He has worn many hats for different businesses – consultant, senior manager, investor, strategist, mentor and entrepreneur.  Specialties: Accounting, financial modeling, business planning, forecasting, due diligence, strategy, business development, private equity, angel investing, M&A, and financial reporting.

1 Million Cups (1MC) is a simple way to engage entrepreneurs in communities around the world; over 30 cities now host 1MC every Wednesday. Each week, local entrepreneurs have an opportunity to present their startups to an audience of other entrepreneurs and the interested public. Presenters give a 10 minute overview of their new venture and then engage the public in 20 minutes of give and take questioning and suggestions, seeking ways that the local community can help the venture be successful.
